My January Favorites
Hello my beautiful friends! The week has come and gone and I’ve accumulated a lot of interesting insights to share with you. I’ve had a really bad cough last week, hence did my best to “take it easy” and nurture myself. I’m still learning the “ take it easy” part, because I seem to not know how to stop working, haha. I will share with you some of my favorite remedies for a cough or cold in this week's favorites. It seems like everyone around me is also coughing, so I think it can be useful. I’m happy to report that I’m feeling much better now! :) How has your week been? I’ve drank countless hot drinks this week to help me soothe my agitated throat. My favorite is definitely a hot water lemon drink. The best part - it’s very easy to make. Slice some organic lemons into a mug and add hot water. Let it cool and steep for a few minutes and then slowly sip on it. It’s very comforting for a sore throat. Also, Vitamin C in the lemons helps you boost your immune system, which again helps you get over that cough much faster.
The quote says it all. We can all feel very strongly about our world view and scream to the world about our opinion on different topics. What’s the ultimate outcome of our opinion? The truth is nobody cares. It doesn’t change much… There are billions of people with billions of opinions in this world. If we want to make a positive difference and an impact in what we care about, we must conserve our energy to implement action instead of empty opinion. We must become the example of what we want to see in our world. Want people to be kinder in this world? Be kinder! Want a better and cleaner environment? Learn to recycle and research on what stuff is made of and so on. Those around you will be inspired by your actions not your opinion.
Is there someone you need to forgive? We all have had someone hurt or deceive us in the past. It’s a painful experience that usually starts as a shock and recovery time can take weeks, if not months or even years sometimes. This is another discovery due to my sore throat last week. I love to take throat tablets when I have a sore throat. They relieve pain, fight the infection and soothe the throat, however most conventional lozenges are full of sugar and nasty chemicals. Just read the ingredients, you’ll know what I mean. I was all over health food stores and Whole Foods last week looking for a natural alternative and finally found something that’s super natural and healing. It’s got three ingredients: Active Manuka Honey ( 82.5%), cassava starch ( 10%) , concentrated blackcurrant juice ( 7.5%) It doesn’t get any more natural than this.
