It took me a while to convince myself to film and share this birthday celebration with you guys. I did the same thing a few years ago and had such a blast doing it. It was touching, emotional, even life changing...I didn't film it then, yet I felt I should have filmed and shared the idea with the world. After all, great and positive ideas need to be spread. Our world desperately needs it.
When I decided to do a "Good Deeds Birthday" again this year, I was faced with a lot resistance when I thought of sharing it publicly. There is this notion that we shouldn't share the good things we do, for the fear of people thinking and judging us to be conceited. I had to dig deep inside and ask myself : " Why would I want to share it?" . The deeper I dug, the more I realized that not sharing the idea with the world is actually quite selfish of me. I wanted to keep it all to myself, when in reality sharing the video can give so many of you an idea to do the same or something similar on your birthday. I truly believe the Good Deeds Birthday is an amazing way to celebrate your life and journey as a human being. You can do it alone or get your family and friends to join you. It's a mindful way to use your special day to create a ripple effect of love and kindness.
So, here is the video of my celebration on my 29th birthday. It's raw and honest...full of love and gratitude for my life.
